MINSK, 22 April (BelTA) - Sanctions provide more opportunities for the Belarusian economy than negative consequences, head of chair at the Belarusian National Technical University, Doctor of Economics Sergei Solodovnikov said in an interview to the Belarus 1 TV Channel, BelTA has learned.
Many Western companies have left the Russian market, and this is a chance for the Belarusian brands. The Union State plans to focus on import substitution and open new production facilities.
“As soon as the conflict in Ukraine is over, the Ukrainian economy will have to be restored. And most likely, I am almost sure of it, it will be restored by the Russian Federation, Belarus and China,” Sergei Solodovnikov said. “In the future, if we are diligent and consistent, we have to provide ourselves with double-digit economic growth within the next 10-20 years. We have to work a lot for that.”
