MINSK, 13 December (BelTA) – The United States is lifting sanctions on Belarusian potash, U.S. Special Envoy for Belarus John Coale told BelTA.
“In accordance with President Trump’s instructions, the United States is lifting sanctions on [Belarusian] potash. I believe this is a very good step by the United States for Belarus. We are lifting them now,” John Coale said.
He noted that discussions on sanctions will continue. “As relations between the two countries normalize, more sanctions will be lifted,” the U.S. special envoy stated.
John Coale also expressed hope that in the future the two parties would reach a point where no sanctions remain at all.
