Business incubator opens in Krichev

KRICHEV, 7 December (BelTA) – A business incubator opened in Krichev on 7 December. The event was held as part of the 2nd Forum of Ambitious People in Krichev District, BelTA has learned.

The company is the first out of four similar institutions which will soon go operational in Mogilev Oblast under the project of the UNDP and the Belarusian Economy Ministry Small Towns under the funds of the Russian Federation.

“A business incubator in Krichev is a step to further develop the city and the region,”. “This goes in line with our policy which is aimed at supporting and developing regions, implementing state programs, and creating comfortable conditions for life and the realization of human potential,” Belarus' Deputy Economy Minister Dmitry Matusevich said. According to the deputy minister, the Economy Ministry will give priority to supporting those regions where there are initiatives and a desire to make life better.

According to UNDP Deputy Resident Representative Zachary Taylor, small business plays a particularly important role in the regions. It creates new jobs and promotes competition on the market. “It is important that local business, the public and local authorities work together to get the maximum effect. Therefore, we are proud that the project “Small Towns” contributes to the development of entrepreneurship and promotes effective cooperation between private businesses and local authorities,” he noted.

According to Chairman of the Krichev District Executive Committee Dmitry Bochkov, the business-incubator will facilitate the development of private business in Krichev District. Local entrepreneurs will be able to obtain professional advice and rent office space. Fledgling businessmen will have a chance to attend regular seminars and training courses. “We expect the center to accumulate initiatives and new projects that will be implemented in Krichev District with a view to improving the quality of life,” he said.

More similar business incubators will soon open in Chausy, Gorki and Mstislavl (Mogilev Oblast), and also in Baran and Glubokoye (Vitebsk Oblast).
