MINSK, 29 July (BelTA) - The second unit of the Belarusian nuclear power plant (BelNPP) has been reconnected to the power grid following the completion of technical procedures to restore the generator cooling system, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Energy Ministry.
“The unit is currently operating at nominal capacity,” the ministry stated.
As BelTA previously reported, diagnostic measures were carried out at the BelNPP second unit. Personnel disconnected it from the grid on 16 July due to an alarm signaling a deviation in the operation of the generator cooling system—a non-nuclear part of the unit.
The radiation levels at the plant and within the monitoring zone remained unchanged, with no disruptions to consumer power supply recorded.
