MINSK, 19 February (BelTA) – Belarusian Railways and China Merchants Group are strengthening cooperation, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Ministry of Transport and Communications.
The meeting between the parties took place in the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone, with Belarusian Railways director general and China Merchants Commerce and Logistics Company director general in attendance.
The parties discussed prospects for increasing freight transportation by container trains from Belarus to China, as well as supplies of Chinese products to Belarus utilizing the logistics capabilities of China Merchants.
The sides agreed to work in the following areas: development of new transport and logistics products, formation of end-to-end logistics for container trains on the China-Europe-China route, as well as improvement of interaction with the customs authorities of Belarus and China.
Another item on the agenda was the implementation of a project to build a container railway terminal on the territory of the Great Stone industrial park.
