MINSK, 14 October (BelTA) – Belarus is set to join the Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information for Tax Purposes. The decision was formalized in the Council of Ministers' Resolution No. 590 as of 12 October 2020. The document was officially
published on the National Legal Internet Portal on 14 October, BelTA has learned.
In addition to that, the Council of Ministers approved Belarus' plans to join the Inclusive Framework to implement the Action Plan on Base Erosion and Profit Shifting.
These decisions are meant to facilitate cooperation between Belarus and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development that initiated the projects of the Global Forum and the Inclusive Framework.
Annual membership fees will be paid from the central budget. These fees are part of the expenses earmarked by the Ministry of Taxes and Duties for international activities.
The Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information for Tax Purposes is an international body working on the implementation of global transparency and exchange of information standards around the world.
