Belarus to cooperate with Iranian Free Trade Zones

MINSK, 21 August (BelTA) – Belarus’ National Investment and Privatization Agency (NAIP) and the High Council of Iran’s Free Trade and Special Economic Zones have signed a Memorandum of Understanding in Minsk on 20 August, BelTA learned from NAIP.

The memorandum aims to exchange expertise in investor attraction and retention, identify priority areas for Belarus-Iran investment cooperation and hold joint events and presentations.

First Deputy Director of the NAIP Yelena Perminova noted the high potential for mutual cooperation in sharing experience and working with investors. The Iranian side believes the same potential exists for joint business events and closer ties between residents of Belarusian and Iranian preferential regimes to develop exports, tourism, IT and other industries.

The Iranian side invited their Belarusian colleagues to hold a number of joint events in Iran.

The High Council of Iran’s Free Trade and Special Economic Zones is a state coordination body. Its main task is to manage, develop and coordinate the activities of Iran’s free economic zones.
