GOMEL, 27 February (BelTA) - Despite all external challenges and restrictions, the Belarusian steel mill BMZ reported strong profit and production growth in 2024, Industry Minister Aleksandr Yefimov said at the meeting of the Supervisory Board of BMZ, the Management Company of the holding company Belarusian Metallurgical Company (BMC), BelTA has learned.
The participants of the meeting took stock of the company’s performance in Q4 2024, outlined the tasks for Q1 2025 and overall plans for 2025. They also assessed the measures taken to increase and diversify exports in Q4 2024.
According to the minister, despite the challenges and restrictions coming from the outside, BMZ posted strong profit and production growth in 2024. The absence of overdue wage arrears, tax arrears and other mandatory payments were noted among positive factors.
Aleksandr Yefimov added that all the forecast indicators approved by the business plan of social and economic development of the company in 2025 should be fulfilled in full.
The public joint-stock company (OAO) BMZ, the Management Company of the holding company Belarusian Metallurgical Company (BMC), is a high-tech Belarusian metallurgical enterprise. It comprises infrastructure shops and four manufacturing divisions connected by one technological chain. The divisions focus on steel smelting, mill products, pipe products, hardware items.
