GOMEL, 19 February (BelTA) – Chairman of the Belarusian State Concern for Oil and Chemistry Belneftekhim Ilya Ikan has updated the tasks and approaches in the oil industry during a meeting with the staff of the Belorusneft company, BelTA has learned.
The meeting touched upon aspects of the defensive capability of the Belarusian army and patriotism in modern conditions. About 1,400 employees joined the discussion via 40 video studios at Belorusneft’s divisions.
The head of the concern emphasized that ensuring national security depends not only on the readiness of military units but also on the contribution of every specialist at their workplace, ensuring constructive labor.
The chairman of the Belneftekhim concern outlined the key tasks for the industry set by the president at a recent meeting with the government. “Of course, it is important to convey the momentum from the president’s meeting with the government. A number of issues and tasks have been set for the government, concern and industry: primarily import substitution, secondly development pace, and meeting forecast targets,” he said.
Several tasks have been updated for Belorusneft. “It is necessary to continue increasing Belarusian oil production. Emphasis is placed on the efficiency of processes, including cost reduction, optimal extraction methods, and obtaining maximum economic effect. Another important task is the retail and wholesale sale of petroleum products. The company supplies fuel to more than 70% of Belarusian consumers. This is product manufactured by our two oil refineries,” Ilya Ikan emphasized.
Accessibility, efficiency and quality of service, as well as its compliance with consumer demands and the provision of related services, are among the most pressing tasks. “This is precisely the link connecting our team and consumers. It’s important not just to provide a service but to create a welcoming atmosphere by offering hot drinks, especially in this cold weather. This shapes the image of both Belorusneft and the concern. People need to feel our care and know that their opinion matters to us. A driver arrives in harsh weather, fills up, has a snack, sees smiling staff – their mood lifts, and that will brighten their further journey,” the head of the concern concluded.
A separate meeting with the enterprise’s top management is also planned for 19 February for a more specific distribution of issues and elaboration of tasks by area, as well as setting reference points.
The Belorusneft company was established in 1966. The enterprise is engaged in the exploration, development, and extraction of oil fields, well drilling, oil and associated petroleum gas production in Belarus. The company also operates in the oil sectors of other countries.
