MINSK, 1 November (BelTA) – Belarus raised minimum per capita subsistence budget on 1 November 2024. The new minimum subsistence budget will be valid through 31 January 2025, BelTA has learned.
According to the Belarusian Labor and Social Security Ministry, the new minimum per capita subsistence budget is set at Br437.8, up 1.1% from the previous one that was in effect from 1 August 2024.
This is the fourth increase of the minimum subsistence budget in Belarus in 2024. It has risen by 19% since the start of the year.
Various allowances and increases that make part of the social security system and also certain social payments tied to the minimum subsistence rate have been also revised upwards. These include state benefits for families raising children, additional payments to pensions, benefits to care for a person with Group I disability or a person who has reached the age of 80, and also social pensions.
In particular, additional payments to pensions increased by 1.1% to Br82.09 for people aged 75-79, Br164.18 for people aged 80 and older (including care allowance), and Br218.9 for people with Group I disability.
More than 537,000 people aged 75 and older receive such additional payments.
