Belarus' PM discusses pending issues in cooperation with Russia's Bashkortostan

MINSK, 1 September (BelTA) – Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko emphasized the importance of having a good momentum in relations between Belarus and Bashkortostan as he met with Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan of the Russian Federation Radiy Khabirov on 31 August, BelTA has learned.

“We have positive dynamics in all domains: volume and structure of trade and joint projects - this is vitally important for us. Therefore, I would suggest that our working group, that works very actively,  hold an extraordinary meeting and inform us on the results within two, maximum three weeks,” Roman Golovchenko said.

The Belarusian head of government noted that progress in bilateral relations is the outcome of results-oriented, intense work.

Roman Golovchenko outlined the things that require more attention. “We understand that the further development of the project [production of Belarus-Russia trolleybuses Gorozhanin] is held back by the lack of production capacity. We would like to get a better understanding of the timing of this project so that we can accurately calculate our sales strategy going forward. Requests continue to come from various regions of the Russian Federation, so we need to understand when, for example, a certain production site might become operational,” the Belarusian prime minister said.

“It is still unclear when the project to build a plant to make road construction equipment will be implemented. We agreed on it during the previous meeting. Therefore, I would also ask the working group to more clearly outline the timing for the implementation of this project. This is a task for both parties,” said the prime minister of Belarus.

Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko is on a working trip to Ufa. The visit is timed to the official celebration of the 450th anniversary of the city.
