MINSK, 16 October (BelTA) – Belarus has formulated a ten-year dairy industry development strategy, Belarusian Deputy Agriculture and Food Minister Aleksandr Yakovchits said at the plenary session of the Belarus’ Dairy Industry international forum (11th edition) in Minsk on 16 October, BelTA has learned.
Aleksandr Yakovchits reported that milk production in the country increased by 4.8% in January-September 2025 year-on-year. “We expect to exceed the 5% growth mark by the end of the year and produce over 9 million tonnes of milk. There is every reason to believe this is achievable,” the deputy minister said.

He emphasized the importance of strategic planning, encompassing both production and sales, analyzing global trends for the industry's successful development. He also stressed the need to collaborate with partners from the Russian Federation and other countries to achieve the goals.
“The key task that requires a solution today is: what will we produce and where will we sell it in 10 years? We have strategically formulated a development plan for each enterprise and each product. For the next 10 years, we have a strategy outlining what we will produce and where we will sell it, covering all countries of the world that are interested in purchasing our products,” Aleksandr Yakovchits said.
