
MINSK, 23 August (BelTA) – Belarusian agrarians have threshed over 8 million tonnes of grain, the press service of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry told BelTA.
According to the latest data available on 23 August, as much as 8.087 million tonnes of grain including rapeseed has been harvested from Belarusian fields.
The contribution of every oblast to the country’s total varies: 2.043 million tonnes from Minsk Oblast, 1.661 million tonnes from Brest Oblast, 1.617 million tonnes from Grodno Oblast, 1.069 million tonnes from Mogilev Oblast, 960,000 tonnes from Gomel Oblast, and 737,000 tonnes from Vitebsk Oblast.
Cereals and leguminous crops excluding maize have been harvested from 87% of the area under these crops or from 2.118 million hectares. The average yield is above last year’s by 8.5 centners per hectare.
Some 514,000 tonnes of food grain has been delivered under the state procurement program, representing 73% of the target.
Winter rapeseed for grain production has been sown on 373,000 hectares or 86% of the target.
Flax has been pulled from 42,000 hectares or 88% of the target area.
As much as 383,000 tonnes of hay (53% of the target) has been made in addition to 12.168 million tonnes of haylage (87% of the target), including 398,000 tonnes in polymeric packaging.
As much as 3.723 million tonnes of grass fodder has been harvested (37% of the target).
Over 20,000 tonnes of potatoes has already been harvested, with the average yield above last year’s by 64 centners per hectare.
