Belarus' GDP 1.3% down in January-August

MINSK, 15 September (BelTA) – In January-August 2020 Belarus' GDP fell by 1.3% year-on-year, BelTA learned from the National Statistics Committee.

According to initial estimates, the GDP amounted to almost Br93 billion in current prices, or 98.7% as against January-August 2019 in comparable prices.

In January-August 2020, the GDP deflator index equaled 111.5% year-on-year.

In January-August 2020, agricultural enterprises made Br12.1 billion worth of products, which was up by 9.6% over the same period of 2019 in comparable prices.

Salaries accounted for 64.5% of the total money income, revenues from doing business and other gainful activities – 7.4%, transfers to the population (pensions, welfare benefits, scholarships, and other kinds) – 23.3%, property income and other kinds of revenue – 4.8%.
