Belarus' export 28.6% up to $14.19bn in January-April

MINSK, 10 June (BelTA) – In January-April 2021 Belarus' export of merchandise and services rose by 28.6% year-on-year to $14.19 billion, BelTA learned from the website of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB).

In January-April 2021 Belarus' foreign trade totaled $27.461 billion, 26.5% up from the same period in 2020. Import amounted to $13.272 billion (24.4% up). Surplus of foreign trade in goods and services equaled $915.9 million, up from $361.4 million in January-April 2020.

Belarus' merchandise trade soared by 30.9% to $22.698 billion. Merchandise export went up by 35.5% to $11.12 billion, with merchandise import up by 26.9% to $11.577 billion. Merchandise trade deficit totaled $457 million. In January-April 2020 Belarus also had a deficit of $915.4 million.

In January-April 2021 foreign trade in services reached $4.762 billion, 9% up year-on-year. Export of services amounted to $3.067 billion (8.6% up), with import at $1.694 billion (9.6% up). Surplus of foreign trade in services equaled $1.372 billion, up from $1.276 billion in January-April 2020.
