MINSK, 14 October (BelTA) – The potential of Belarus' economy and education was presented in Bacau County, Romania, BelTA learned from the Belarusian embassy in Bucharest.
Ambassador of Belarus to Romania Andrei Grinkevich visited Bacau County. During the visit he held talks with President of the County Board Sorin Brasoveanu, Bacau County Prefect Valentin Ivancea, member of Romania's Senate Viorel Ilie, Moinesti Mayor Valentin Vieru, representative of Romania's Ministry of Health Alin Nastase, Rector of Vasile Alecsandri University of Bacau Carol Schnakovszky, and heads of the companies Aerostar, Agricola, and Romchim Protect.
The Belarusian ambassador gave a presentation about Belarus' trade, industrial, economic, investment, educational, and tourism potential. Andrei Grinkevich and Sorin Brasoveanu discussed prospects for stepping up interregional cooperation. Sorin Brasoveanu noted that he would like to visit one of Belarus' regions in the near future in order to establish bilateral relations.
Bakau County boasts a well-developed industry. It places fifth among Romania's counties in terms of production volume. The most developed sectors of the county include oil industry, mechanical engineering, aviation, metal- and woodworking industries, food industry, and coal mining.
