MINSK, 9 February (BelTA) – The amount of family capital in Belarus has increased by more than 50% (specifically, by 58%) since 2020, BelTA reports citing the press service of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection.
The sum has grown from Br22,500 to Br35,500 over this period. “This program provides a non-repayable grant, which is placed into a special deposit account upon the birth or adoption of a third or subsequent child,” the press service stated.
The ministry clarified that the funds can be accessed early for essential needs like improving housing conditions (chosen by roughly 80% of families) as well as for the education of children or parents, medical services, and rehabilitation. “To date, over 98,600 families have already exercised their right to the early use of the family capital,” the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection added.
