MINSK, 19 November (BelTA) – Tsmoki Minsk picked up a home win after four losses on the home turf, BelTA has learned.
A commanding 98-67 Group N home victory for Tsmoki Minsk over Slovakia's MBK Komarno on November 18 kept the Belarusian side in the FIBA Europe Cup Round of 32 hunt. A dominant 18-5 finish to the opening frame had Tsmoki Minsk in total control at 31-14, relegating Komarno to playing catch up for the remaining 30 minutes. The most valuable player on the Minsk side was Anthony Hilliard who finished the game with 31 on 5-of-8 downtown shooting. However, the bigger hero was arguably Ivan Maras with a 12-point, 14-rebound, 10-assist triple-double.
Before the Wednesday action Tsmoki Minsk had two road wins: Komarno 90-68 and Rilski Bulgaria 97-88 and one home loss to Finland's Joensuu (82-88).
Group N standings are as follows: Joensuu – 7 points, Tsmoki Minsk – 7, Rilski Bulgaria – 6, Komarno Slovakia – 4.
Ahead of their trip to Finland Tsmoki Minsk host Rilski Bulgaria in the FIBA Europe Cup action on 24 November.
Games in 14 groups of four teams will be over on 2 December. In the Round of 32, the first and second best teams from the regular season will play in groups of four. Starting from the Last 16 playoffs, quarterfinals will be played. The tournament will conclude with a Final Four.
