MINSK, 21 February (BelTA) - Belarusian athletes failed to win medals at the XXV Winter Olympic Games in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, BelTA has learned.
The Games featured 2,900 athletes from 94 countries, including seven athletes from Belarus who competed under a neutral flag. The best results of Team Belarus were the sixth place of speed skater Marina Zueva in the 5000m and the eighth place of freestyle skier Hanna Huskova in aerials.
Team Belarus in Italy:
Aerials: Hana Guskova - 8th place, Anastasiya Andriyanova - 16th place, Anna Derugo - 17th place;
Speed skating: Marina Zueva - 6th place (5000m), 15th place (3000m), 20th place (Mass Start);
Figure dkating: Viktoriya Safonova - 26th place;
Cross-Country: Hanna Karaliova - 34th place (skiathlon), 45th place (individual race), 48th place (sprint);
Alpine skiing: Maria Shkanova - 37th place (slalom).
