MINSK, 5 August (BelTA) – Belarus' world number 6 Aryna Sabalenka reached the Silicon Valley Classic quarterfinal in San Jose defeating world number 168 Caroline Dolehide of the United States, 5-7, 6-1, 7-5, in two hours and 38 minutes, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian will next face Russia's world number 12 Daria Kasatkina.
At the Citi Open in Washington Belarus' world number 20 Victoria Azarenka will play world number 73 Tereza Martincova of the Czech Republic in the round of Last 16. In the opener the Belarusian dispatched Ukraine's world number 77 Dayana Yastremska, 6-4, 6-0.
In the men's opener Belarus' world number 49 Ilya Ivashka lost to world number 54 Sebastian Korda of the United States, 4-6, 6-7 (5-7).
The tournaments in San Jose and Washington will be over on 7 August.
