MINSK, 27 January (BelTA) – Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus has reached the Australian Open semifinals for the fourth consecutive year, BelTA has learned.
In the quarterfinals, the world No. 1 overpowered world No. 27 Iva Jovic of the USA, 6-3, 6-0. Sabalenka’s opponent in the match for a place in the final will be the winner of the encounter between U.S. Coco Gauff (No. 3) and Ukrainian Elina Svitolina (No. 12).
The remaining two quarterfinal matches will be played on 28 January. The clash will feature world No. 2 Iga Swiatek of Poland against Elena Rybakina of Kazakhstan (No. 5), and an all-American duel between fourth-seeded Amanda Anisimova and sixth-seeded Jessica Pegula.
Aryna Sabalenka is the two-time Australian Open champion (2023, 2024). In 2025, she lost in the final to Madison Keys of the USA.
