MINSK, 25 June (BelTA) – Belarus' world number 136 Olga Govortsova has reached the Wimbledon qualifying final, BelTA has learned.
In the second qualifying round the Belarusian solved Slovakia's world number 228 Rebecca Sramkova 4-6, 7-6 (7-2), 6-2.
In the opener Olga Govortsova defeated Belgium's world number 234 Marie Benoit 7-5, 6-4. The Belarusian will face Spain's world number 166 Cristina Bucsa for a spot in the main draw.
Three Belarusian players: Aryna Sabalenka (World No.4), Victoria Azarenka (14), and Aliaksandra Sasnovich (100) will play in the Wimbledon main draw.
Egor Gerasimov (72) and Ilya Ivashka (87) will play in the men's singles event.
Wimbledon will take place from 28 June to 10 July.
