MINSK, 5 November (BelTA) – Belarusian athletes have won their first medals at the EUBC Youth & U23 European Boxing Championships taking place in Yerevan, Armenia, BelTA has learned.
The U23 women’s team opened the medal tally for Belarus. Tatsiana Krasnova (48 kg), Iryna Vinahradava (50 kg), Tatsiana Trushkina (54 kg), and Daryia Slepchanka (66 kg) each secured a bronze medal after falling in the semifinals, where medals are automatically awarded due to the absence of third-place bouts.
Furthermore, Maryna Muliarchyk, Darya Letsko, and Maria Pilipenka have advanced to the finals of the continental forum. The gold medal bouts will take place in Yerevan on 10 November. Team Belarus is represented by 16 athletes at the U23 championship and by 18 boxers at the concurrently running junior (U18) tournament.
