MINSK, 14 August (BelTA) – The Belarusian national basketball team is returning to international sports scene after a long hiatus. Andrei Krivonos’s team has departed for China’s Yining for Central Asia International Basketball Men's Tournament 2025, BelTA reports.
The traveling roster features reserve players from the senior national team: Daniil Borisevich, KirillVaskovtsov, Artem Sekushenko, Danila Semenyuk, Andrei Ozhgo, David-MasengeMukete, Maksim Moskalchuk, Konstantin Pasko, Pavel Rabushko, Ivan Terekhov, Sergei Lemeshevsky and Kirill Vinokurov.
The tournament opens on 15 August with Belarus facing China, followed by matches against Uzbekistan on 16 August and Kazakhstan on 17 August. Andrei Krivonos noted that the event marks Belarus’s long-awaited return to international play, so this is a good opportunity to compete in China and to test the team against strong opponents. The coach said that with most core players having joined Russian and foreign clubs to prepare for the new season, the roster features athletes from Belarus’s domestic league. “For them this is a great opportunity to show their skills and identify areas for improvement,” the coach emphasized.
