
MINSK, 8 September (BelTA) – Belarusian female cyclists have become medalists at the multi-stage race Giro Toscana Int. Femminile – Memorial Michela Fanini (2.2) in Italy, BelTA has learned.
The race featured 82 cyclists, including two Belarusians. Alena Amialiusik and her UAE Development Team finished 2nd in the first stage. The Belarusian cyclist then placed 4th in stage three and 2nd again in the fourth and final stage. This consistent performance earned her second place overall in the Giro Toscana, just 14 seconds behind the winner, Eline Jansen of the Netherlands. Another Belarusian athlete, Hanna Tserakh, claimed victory in the intermediate sprints classification.
Belarusian junior cyclists also excelled at European one-day races over the weekend. Mikita Babovich secured a repeat victory at Belgium’s GP Jef Leonard, and Mikita Zhdanau won the GP Albero Bello in Italy.
