
MINSK, 18 April (BelTA) – Belarus won the UEFA U16 Development Tournament in Minsk, BelTA has learned.

On the final day of the tournament, 18 April, Aleksei Mikhailov’s team whitewashed China 3-0. Marat Titov, Vladislav Voronin and Matvey Chichin scored for the winning side. On the first competition day Belarus lost to Kazakhstan 2-3 (Anatoly Yastochkin and Yevgeny Nesterenko scored for Belarus), and then edged Russia 2-1 (Vladislav Voronin and Timofei Gudach). Russia defeated Kazakhstan 2-0.

The final team standings are as follows: Belarus – 6 points, Russia – 6, Kazakhstan – 3, and China – 3.
Such UEFA youth tournaments have been held as part of the HatTrick program since 2012. Belarus hosted the first such event in 2013. Tournaments feature boys and girls from all 55 national football associations that make part of the Union of the European Football Associations.
