MINSK, 22 August (BelTA) – Belarusian athletes have won their first medal at the 2025 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships in Milan, BelTA has learned.
In the Women K4 500m event, the Belarusian crew of Marharyta Tkachova, Uladzislava Skryhanava, Ina Sauchuk, and Nadzeya Kushner placed third. The Belarusian crew finished 0.22 seconds behind the world champions from Spain and just one-tenth of a second behind the silver medalists from China. In the fight for bronze Belarus edged out the team from New Zealand by 0.18 seconds.
In the Men K4 500m event, the crew of Mikita Borykau, Uladzislau Kravets, Uladzislau Litvinau, and Dzmitry Natynchyk finished ninth. In the Women C2 500m, Volha Klimava and Anhelina Bardanouskaya missed the podium by a quarter of a second, finishing fourth.
Stanislau Savelyeu finished seventh in the Men C1 200m, and Hleb Chabatarou placed last in the Men C1 500m final. The world championships in Italy will conclude on 24 August.
