
MINSK, 18 September (BelTA) - The Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RIHF) has announced three of the four participants for the 2025 Channel One Cup, which will be held in Novosibirsk for the first time, BelTA learned from the RIHF press service.
The traditional international tournament will take place at the Sibir Arena on 11-14 December. The reigning champions Russia 25, as well as the national teams of Belarus and Kazakhstan will take part in the competition. The fourth participant will be announced in the near future.
“Novosibirsk has been waiting for this historic event; the December tournament is always a big celebration. The city has earned the right to host it, as it is one of the country's oldest hockey regions and remains a center for the development of our sport. The region has fantastic fans who create a magnificent atmosphere in the stands and break attendance records every year,” RIHF President Vladislav Tretiak said.
The Belarusian national ice hockey team will compete in the Channel One Cup for the fourth time in a row. Belarus won the trophy in 2022 and finished second in 2023 and 2024.
