MINSK, 26 January (BelTA) – The Belarusian national futsal team will play their second match at the 2026 UEFA Futsal Championship, BelTA has learned.
On 26 January, during the second round of Group C, Aleksandr Chernik’s squad will meet the team from Spain in Ljubljana. In their first match, the Belarusian side suffered a defeat to Belgium 0-4, whereas Spain comfortably overcame Slovenia 4-1. The other fixture in this group today will see Slovenia face off against Belgium. Victories for both Spain and Belgium today would guarantee them a place in the last eight ahead of schedule.
Armenia did just that on 25 January, beating the Czech Republic 5-4 in their second Group B game. Having made their tournament debut, the Armenians started with a 2-1 win over Ukraine. Ukraine, in turn, had moved into second after a 4-1 victory over Lithuania the previous day. The group standings are as follows: Armenia – 6 points, Ukraine – 3, Czech Republic – 1, Lithuania – 1.
In the second round, the national teams of Georgia and Croatia drew 2-2. The French team left no chance for Latvia with a score of 5-0. The group standings after two matchdays are: France – 4 points, Latvia – 3, Croatia – 2, Georgia – 1.
In Group D, the second-round matches will take place on 27 January: Hungary vs. Portugal and Poland vs. Italy. At the start of the tournament, the reigning European champion Portugal defeated Italy 6-2, while Hungary beat Poland 4-2.
Following the group stage, the top two teams from each group will advance to the quarterfinals.
