MINSK, 26 January (BelTA) – The Armenian football team will be the second opponent for the Belarusian national team in the new season, BelTA has learned.
After an away match against Cyprus scheduled for 26 March, Viktar Hancharenka’s squad will travel to Yerevan, where they will face the Armenian national team on 29 March. In their seven previous encounters, Belarusians have secured three victories, Armenians have won twice, and two other matches ended in a draw.
The national teams of Belarus and Cyprus have met twice: in February 2004, Belarusians won 2-0, and in November 2008, Cypriots took revenge with a 2-1 victory. In the current FIFA rankings, the Belarusian national team holds the 99th place, Cyprus is 128th, and Armenia is 90th.
