Belarus Tennis Academy opens in Minsk

MINSK, 22 October (BelTA) - The Belarusian Tennis Academy can become the best tennis school in the world in the near future, Alexander Shakutin, Chairman of the Belarusian Tennis Federation, Chairman of the Board of Directors of OAO Amkodor, the managing company of the Amkodor holding company, said during the presentation of the National Tennis Academy on 22 October, BelTA has learned.

The National Tennis Academy is located in the new Palace of Tennis inaugurated in 2014. It has 8 indoor and 15 outdoor courts with different types of surface all around the year. The academy will develop a full-circle tennis infrastructure with a medical center, workout rooms, a swimming pool, a small hotel, and a cryosauna that will help sportsmen recover after training sessions or competitions. Besides, the construction project of a tennis center with clay surface will be presented in the near future.

“The tennis academy will comply with all the standards necessary for the successful training of sportsmen,” Alexander Shakutin said.

The Chairman of the Belarusian Tennis Federation believes that in order to train a top-level sportsman it is necessary to fulfill at least the following three requirements: tennis courts and coaching staff, special equipment, and medical support.

“Soon we will develop a computer program that will design individual schedules for each player for a day, week, and month,” Alexander Shakutin added.

The construction of seven tennis centers will begin in Minsk in the near future. Besides, the negotiations are in progress to create tennis schools in all the oblasts of Belarus.
