MINSK, 18 December (BelTA) – The Belarusian national futsal team kicked off its series of friendlies in Slovakia with a draw, BelTA has learned.

Although the home team started on the front foot in Košice, Belarus struck first. After soaking up the early pressure, the Belarusians hit back with a series of counterattacks, with Aleksei Pinchuk converting one of them with a clinical finish. Following this goal, Aleksandr Chernik’s team had opportunities to double their advantage but found Slovakia’s keeper Marek Kušnír in fine form. The Slovaks, however, hit back with an equalizer and struck twice more past goalkeeper Aleksei Luksha before the break to take a 3-1 lead. Shortly after the restart, Dmitri Shvedko pulled one back, and Yuri Dubkov eventually found the equalizer to make it 3-3.

The second friendly between Belarus and Slovakia will take place on 19 December in Humenne. The friendlies in Slovakia serve as another preparatory step for the Belarusian futsal squad ahead of the final stage of UEFA Futsal Euro 2026. In preliminary Group C, the Belarusian team will face Belgium, Spain, and Slovenia. The Slovenian team is also playing friendlies this week. They kicked it off with a 4-1 victory over Hungary, and are set to face Japan in a friendly on 18 December.
