Belarus’ Makarskaya 3rd in sprint at Russian Junior Biathlon Competition

MINSK, 5 December (BelTA) – Belarusian athlete Hanna Makarskaya has won a medal at the Russian Junior Biathlon Competition for athletes under 20 in Uvat, Russia’s Tyumen Oblast, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian athlete secured a podium finish in the sprint race. Hanna Makarskaya was flawless on the shooting range, hitting all her targets, and crossed the finish line in third place. Another Belarusian athlete Valeriya Vecherskaya also made the top 20, placing 19th among 55 participants. In the men’s sprint, the best result among the Belarusians was posted by Pavel Matsul, who finished 14th out of 76 competitors.

On 3 December, the Belarusian team won bronze in the mixed relay at the Russian Junior Biathlon Competition. Men’s and women’s relay races are scheduled for 6 December in Uvat.
