Belarus’ Huskova finishes 9th at Aerials World Cup final in Lake Placid

MINSK, 13 January (BelTA) – Belarusian freestyle skier Hanna Huskova made the top ten at the final stage of the FIS Freestyle Skiing Aerials World Cup in Lake Placid, USA, BelTA has learned.

After securing the eighth spot in qualifying, the 2018 Olympic champion went on to earn 70.87 points in the final, which placed her ninth. Kaila Kuhn of the United States posted the highest score of the final round with 105.60 points. Huskova’s 2025-26 World Cup season saw her enter three of the six stops, and she came ninth every time. Her final position in the general classification is 19th. The women’s Crystal Globe for the season was claimed by China’s Xu Mengtao.

At the U.S. stage, Belarusian skiers Anastasiya Andryianava and Anna Derugo placed 14th and 15th respectively among 33 female athletes. In the men’s event, Belarusian athletes Uladzislau Vazniuk finished 24th, and Ihar Drabiankou came in 32nd out of 38 freestylers.

The World Cup has served as a qualifying event for the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Italy. The results of the qualification period will be summarized on 18 January. Preliminarily, Belarus has one quota spot in women’s freestyle aerials.
