
MINSK, 6 July (BelTA) - Belarusian Dzianis Yermolenka finished one step away from the pedestal on the final day of the 2025 ECA Junior and U23 Canoe Sprint European Championships, BelTA learned.
The event was hosted by Romania’s Pitesti. Today, Dzianis Yermolenka was among the medal hopefuls in the K1 500m. At the start of the tournament on 3 July, the Belarusian advanced to the final race, bypassing the semifinals. On the final day of the championships, Dzianis finished one second behind the top three finishers from Hungary, Poland and Spain.
Thus, Dzianis Yermolenka will bring one medal from Romania: on 5 July the Belarusian athlete claimed bronze in the men’s K1 1000m. The next major international event for Team Belarus will be 2025 ICF Junior and U23 Canoe Sprint World Championships in Montemor-O-Velho, Portugal on 23- 27 July and the 2025 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships in Milan, Italy on 20-24 August.
