MINSK, 28 January (BelTA) – Belarus Open Biathlon Championships kicked off in the Raubichi Olympic Winter Sports Center, BelTA has learned.
The tournament opened with the U21 sprint races. Gleb Orlovsky from Minsk Oblast won the junior sprint, Aleksandr Golyak from Minsk placed second and Andrei Gavrosh (Grodno Oblast) was third. Alina Zaitseva from Vitebsk Oblast clocked the best result in juniors, the top three were Anna Pestereva from Minsk and Elena Kulak (Minsk Oblast), participants of the current season of the Commonwealth Cup.
The Tuesday program also featured the U18 individual races among boys and girls. Gold winners were Aleksandr Shikun (Minsk) and Ulyana Kamornikova (Minsk Oblast).
