Belarusian Kristina Zdunkevich defeated Norwegian Ofelia Annette Hoye to win gold in the girls +57kg. Yana Tretsiak of Belarus overcame Turkish Nesrin Basi to secure the gold medal in the girls +65 kg.
“As far as I know, some federations are already curious about the possibility of getting major competitions organized. One of the conditions of organizing a multisport forum is the new equipment, which every sport venue now has,” Anatol Kotau noted.
Vyacheslav Durnov noted: “Before the start of the European Games we were planning to perform as well as we did at the 1st European Games in Baku in 2015 (43 medals). But Belarusian athletes surpassed the expectations of fans and our plans."
Belarusian Anastasiya Shkurdai swan to the gold medal in the 50m butterfly at the LEN European Junior Swimming Championships in Kazanutterfly. She also clinched the title in the 100m butterfly and bronze medal in the 200m backstroke.
Anastasiya Shkurdai, one of the leaders of Belarus' national team, stopped the clock at 2:11.84. Gold went to Italy's Erika Francesca Gaetani (2:10.28). Honey Osrin from the UK clinched silver with 2:10.30.
