Brest to host Mad Wave Challenge swimming competition

Brest will host the competition for the fourth time. This year the Palace of Water Sports will see about 700 young athletes from Belarus, Russia, Poland, Ukraine and Lithuania. Aspiring athletes aged 10 - 14 years will compete in two age groups in the following disciplines: medley swimming, butterfly, breaststroke, backstroke and freestyle.

Belarus' world number 12 Aryna Sabalenka recorded the first win of the 2018 Hengqin Life WTA Elite Trophy Zhuhai, moving past Ashleigh Barty of Australia, world number 19, in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4.

The Belarusian made it 216kg (93kg + 123kg) overall to claim the European champion title. Second was Russia's Ani Sargsyan who lifted a total of 215kg (95kg+120kg). Bronze went to Turkey with a combined total of 205kg (90kg+115kg).

Sabalenka to play in 2018 Hengqin Life WTA Elite Trophy Zhuhai

Belarus' world number 12 Aryna Sabalenka will make part of the player field set to compete in the fourth annual Hengqin Life WTA Elite Trophy Zhuhai from 30 October - 4 November 2018 for a total prize money of over $2.3 million.

Dinamo Stadium in Minsk was assigned UEFA Category 4 in October 2018. This will enable the stadium to host matches of the highest level.

The Belarusian made it 327kg (145kg + 182kg) overall to claim the European champion title. Second was Rafik Arutyunian of Armenia who lifted a total of 326kg (146kg+180kg). Bronze went to Przemyslaw Korneluk of Poland with a combined total of 316kg (142kg+174kg).
