MINSK, 13 September (BelTA) - The joint strategic exercise of the armed forces of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation Zapad 2025 is proceeding in an intensive mode, the Belarusian Defense Ministry told BelTA.
At the 227th combined arms training ground, units of the armed forces of the two countries were tasked with marching from one area. The movement is carried out in small groups, which allows for the effective practice of tactical techniques and minimizes the risks of detection by the conditional enemy. The servicemen are engaged in the engineering preparation of positions, creating a strong and echeloned defense. Particular attention is paid to camouflage and increasing the survivability of personnel and equipment.
Aerial reconnaissance of the area is conducted using UAVs, which allows for the timely detection of the conditional enemy's movements. Round-the-clock patrolling of the adjacent territory and guard duty have been organized to ensure security and prevent sudden attacks. During the night, steps to counter the conditional enemy's sabotage and reconnaissance groups were practiced.
The units successfully completed tasks of detecting, blocking, and eliminating saboteurs, demonstrating a high level of training and coordination. The Defense Ministry noted that the Zapad 2025 exercise continues in an intensive mode. New operational directives are being received around the clock, requiring servicemen to make quick decisions and take coordinated actions in a rapidly changing situation.
As previously reported, the Belarus-Russia joint army exercise Zapad 2025 kicked off on 12 September. It will last until 16 September at training grounds in both states.
