MINSK, 3 June (BelTA) - The Vytoki cultural and sport festival has opened in Orsha with a program of historical and cultural heritage, BelTA learned from the press service of the National Olympic Committe of Belarus.
Today, the participants of the event will hold an onsite roundtable at the Malinovka farm where they will get acquainted with the ancient Belarusian rites and hold a discussion on "Orsha: Traditions in Modernity".
In the evening one of the most famous buildings of Orsha, the Jesuit College, will host the opening of the exhibition "The Wheel of Time" which will feature the works of famous Belarusian artists. Visitors will also have the opportunity to see an exhibition of children's drawing. The best works of the children will be awarded diplomas and prizes on the main stage of the festival on 5 June.
The first day of Vytoki will wrap up with a lecture-presentation "Modern Belarusian Fine Art" and a concert of organ music by Valery Shmat "My Step Towards the Olympus".
The festival will continue on 4 June with educational seminars for authors of creative and innovative youth projects. Orsha Linen Mill, a unique Belarusian enterprise, will invite representatives of regional enterprises to the forum “The Capital of the Place”. Its participants will discuss the development and promotion of national and regional brands.
On 5 June, the festival's main venue will host the key events of the cultural program. A vocal competition is expected to help uncover new talented Belarusian singers. A professional jury featuring famous Belarusian performers Irina Dorofeyeva, Valery Shmat, Zina Kupriyanovich, Gunesh, and Zhanet will choose the best participants. Winners will be presented with diplomas and prizes and will get an opportunity for further improvement.
The festival will round off with a gala concert featuring pop singers and a party from the best DJs on 5 June. All events of the festival are free of charge.
The organizers of the Vytoki festival are the National Olympic Committee of Belarus, the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus, the Arthaos and BelBrandAudit companies.
