MOSCOW, 5 February (BelTA) - The Commission on International Affairs, Migration Policy, and Compatriot Relations of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia will meet in Moscow on 12 February, BelTA learned from the PA press service.
“The MPs will discuss the progress in implementing the Union State’s migration policy, issues regarding international events within the commission’s sphere of activity in the first quarter of 2026, and the preparation of proposals for the concept of the Union State international forum Great Heritage - Common Future,” the press service said.
The second Great Heritage - Common Future forum is planned for June in Brest. It will be timed to the 85th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War. The first forum took place in 2025 in Volgograd with the participation of the presidents of Belarus and Russia.
“The MPs will review matters concerning current international events in the context of the Union State’s interests and will also summarize the results of the Parliamentary Assembly monitoring group’s observation of the November 2025 Kyrgyz parliamentary elections,” the press service added.
Representatives of the Union State Standing Committee and the ministries of foreign affairs and internal affairs of Belarus and Russia are invited to participate in the event.
