MINSK, 18 June (BelTA) – Belarus' Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin has presented state awards to representatives of various professional fields, BelTA has learned.
“We acknowledge the hard work and talent of those who make our country better. Each of you does not simply do your job, your work ethic sets a great example for others and makes us all proud of you,” Aleksandr Turchin emphasized.

A state award is recognition of meaningful achievements, a token of respect for experience and professionalism. “It also appreciates your resilience, dedication, selfless and conscientious work; the future of the Republic of Belarus depends on it,” he said addressing the awardees.

Among them are people of various professions - power engineers, representatives of the manufacturing complex, agriculture and forestry, civil servants. “Your work is a solid foundation on which the country stands. You are the cream of the crop. You do not just handle your tasks, you set the bar. Your professionalism is the driving force of our state,” the prime minister added.

Taisia Venskovich, head of the department for veterinary and sanitary control of animal products at the Grodno Regional Veterinary Laboratory, told journalists that her emotions were running high on this day. “When I was told about the award, I could not believe it. I think I read my boss' message in the chat two or three times. My teammates all congratulated me, because this is the first award for the laboratory's employee. Everyone is waiting for me to come back with the medal.”
Computer science teacher at Brest Gymnasium No. 1 Irina Gorbatsevich was awarded the Medal of Francysk Skaryna. According to her, children are different now, and it is necessary to learn to listen to them. “Thirty years ago, children were obedient and a teacher was the main source of information for them, but now these sources are completely different. Teachers are now more like coordinators. They are more like friends, mentors and assistants. Of course, I did not expect such a high award. Yet, the most important thing is not the award, but the children's achievements. It is crucial to invest a lot in children so that they can make the most of their potential. I also fulfilled my potential in my profession,” she told reporters.

First Deputy Director - Chief Engineer of Lida Energy Networks, which is a branch of Grodnoenergo, Viktor Soroko said the following about his work: it is very interesting and multifaceted. “You never get to sit in offices. You work on the ground, off-site all the time, you communicate with people, because we work for them - we bring light and warmth to every home. Therefore, this award is a great honor,” he noted.

Beltelecom First Deputy Director General Gennady Melnikov, who was awarded the Medal for Labor Merits, noted that for him this is a great honor. “I work in the telecommunications industry and this industry has recently undergone huge changes and modernization. We have switched from analog networks and systems to the digital economy thanks to serious digital transformations. This is not just my award, this is acknowledgment of hard work of the entire Beltelecom team. A lot of young and talented people join our team all the time. We share with them our experience and knowledge and we try to raise them as true patriots. It is also a special honor to receive this award in the year when we mark the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory and the 30th anniversary of Beltelecom,” he said.

In conclusion, Aleksandr Turchin expressed confidence that this award is not the last one for the participants of today's event. “We still have a lot to do together so that our country lives in peace, develops and we are proud of its successes,” the prime minister said.
