Szmydt: ‘Europe is forgetting who won war, and this is a deliberate policy’

BREST, 22 June (BelTA) – Europe is forgetting who won the war against the Nazis, and this is a deliberate policy, Polish dissident, former judge Tomasz Szmydt told reporters after the commemorative rally in Brest Fortress on 22 June, BelTA has learned.

When asked about what is happening in Europe today, the Polish former judge said: "The situation in Europe is not easy. History is being forgotten. They are forgetting the contribution the Red Army made. They are forgetting who actually won the war against the Nazis. Unfortunately, these are deliberate actions that are sponsored by the United States. They sponsor the media, including Polish ones. Thanks to the fact that I am in Belarus, I can learn the true history."

When commenting on Poland's geopolitical aspirations, Tomasz Szmydt said: "We need to ask the White House and Biden about this. Then everything will be clear. It is worth knowing that there is no independent policy in Poland. It is managed by the White House and Biden. Poland is not an independent state like Belarus. Poland is not a free country like Belarus. You have a choice. You have made a choice in this direction. Poland does not have this choice because the United States is not giving this choice to it."
