‘Strong families, strong regions’: Delegate outlines priorities for Belarus’ development

At the second session of the VII Belarusian People’s Congress, delegates will present their proposals. Galina Marshalova, a delegate to the congress and a teacher at Tikhmyanov Dobromyslinskaya Secondary School in Liozno District, spoke with a BelTA reporter about her priorities.

“For me, as for many of my colleagues, neighbors, for every ordinary person, the Belarusian People’s Congress is a unique platform where every voice is heard. It is a real opportunity to take part in making strategic decisions that affect the daily life of every region. This is what true democracy is: the ability of the people to shape the future,” Galina Marshalova said.

“For me as a teacher, issues of demographic security are fundamental: they are the foundation of any society’s prosperity. We need strong, healthy families and happy children who will continue building our Belarus. Equally important is the development of our regions, the growth of towns and villages, so that young specialists see real prospects for living and working there. Providing young families and specialists with affordable housing will form the basis of their stability and confidence in the future. We also need continuous improvement in the quality of social services, including healthcare, support for the elderly, education, and cultural activities. Caring for people and their well-being is the foundation on which our country must be built,” the delegate stated.
