MINSK, 9 January (BelTA) - Some Belarusians are actively sharing their joy over the snowfall on social media, BelTA has learned.
Many residents of the country are posting photos and videos in their social media accounts showing their pets happily playing in the fresh snow. “So much joy from the snow,” the owner of one of the dogs said in her Threads account. Many residents of the country are posting photos and videos in their social media accounts showing their pets happily playing in the fresh snow. “So much joy from the snow,” the owner of one of the dogs said in her Threads account.
The snowfall is causing inconvenience for drivers, covering some roads with impassable snowdrifts. However, students of the Rassvet school in Kletsk District are not discouraged: where a car cannot pass, the school horse Vaizer comes to the rescue. “In fact, the kids, together with their teachers, picked up shovels and cleared the schoolyard themselves,” said the Minsk Regional Committee of the Belarusian Youth Union BRSM.As previously reported, the Ministry of Housing and Utilities is calling on all residents to join the snow-clearing efforts. “Together, we will clear the roads, sidewalks, and courtyards more quickly and demonstrate our unity and solidarity in the face of bad weather,” Deputy Minister of Housing and Utilities Andrei Romashko said. While this is a job and is a responsibility for adults, snow brings joy to children. Young Belarusians are helping their elders with snow removal to the best of their abilities.
Even the adults are picking up their shovels with good spirits. "We've missed winter. Truly. In the past, when it was winter, it was winter! This is normal weather, exactly what winter should be like,” Aleksandr from Berezino noted.
Moreover, some people have decided to take advantage of the snow cover on city streets to go skiing. In such situations, it's essential not to forget about road safety, especially when crossing streets.
