
MINSK, 18 September (BelTA) – Within 24 hours, the queue of passenger cars waiting to enter Lithuania increased tenfold, BelTA learned from the State Border Committee of Belarus.
The number of cars in front of the Lithuanian border checkpoint Medininkai (Kamenny Log on the Belarusian side) and Salcininkai (Benyakoni) rose from 30 to 300. Their personnel accepted only 53% of the normal number of passenger cars.
The number of trucks queuing up at the Belarusian border to enter the EU grew from 850 to 950. Over the last 24 hours, the Lithuanian side admitted just 15% of the normal number of trucks.
Personnel of the Latvian border checkpoint Paternieki (Grigorovshchina) handled 50% of trucks. Currently, 250 trucks are waiting there to enter the European Union.
