MINSK, 17 November (BelTA) – Two refugees from Iraq are now in Grodno Emergency Care Hospital, one of them is on mechanical ventilation, Deputy Chief Physician for Medical Care of the hospital Sergei Voitushko told sb.by, BelTA informs.
“We are currently treating two Iraqi citizens. One of them, a 23-year-old man, was transferred from a Shchuchin hospital with general hypothermia and bilateral pneumonia on 13 November. The patient's condition is serious, he is receiving the necessary medical help in the intensive care unit. He is on mechanical ventilation. The second patient, a 21-year-old man, has been taken to the emergency department from the border with kidney stone disease, acute pyelonephritis today. The patient has received the necessary medical aid, he is now in the urology department where he is getting further treatment. His condition is moderate,” Sergei Voitushko informed.
A reminder, over the past 24 hours, Belarusian healthcare professionals provided medical care to 15 refugees in the border area near the Bruzgi checkpoint. Last night, four people, including one child, turned to a medical emergency team which is on standby in the logistics center. A one-year-old baby was diagnosed with acute gastroenteritis and admitted together with the mother in the children's regional hospital. Doctors stabilized his condition. Medical care was provided to two adults on the spot. Now Grodno hospitals are treating six patients from among the refugees, including four children.
