MINSK, 22 January (BelTA) – The high turnout on the first day of early voting shows that the Belarusian society is consolidated and politically responsible, Deputy Head of the Belarus President Administration Vladimir Pertsov told journalists after casting his ballot at polling station No. 70 in Leninsky District of Minsk, BelTA has learned.
“We are seeing a high turnout. This is an indicator of consolidation of entire Belarusian society, their political responsibility for the future of their country and the understanding that if you fail to vote, no one will do it for you. This means that the future is in your hands,” Vladimir Pertsov said.
He pointed out that voting is in full swing and every Belarusian has the opportunity to cast their vote early. “All conditions are in place for this. Polling stations are located near people's places of residence. Even if you are on a business trip, you are still allowed to vote early,” Vladimir Pertsov remarked.
He added that he always votes early. “I developed this habit during my work in mass media, because media workers have to work on election day. This time the entire state apparatus will also be at work on Sunday,” the deputy head of the Belarus President Administration said.
Early voting is taking place from 21 January to 25 January 2025. Early voting is meant for people who will not be able to come to polling stations on 26 January. During early voting, precinct commissions will work from 12:00 to 19:00 without a break.
