MINSK, 17 December (BelTA) – A meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Belarus reviewed the organization’s performance in 2025 and approved its work plan for 2026, the press service of the NOC of Belarus told BELTA.
President of Belarus’ NOC Viktor Lukashenko emphasized that thanks to active and systematic work with sports organizations and the election of the new IOC President Kirsty Coventry, 2025 saw positive shifts in the international agenda and progress on athlete access to major competitions. Furthermore, support via the Olympic Solidarity program has been reinstated.
The NOC of Belarus continues its efforts to organize participation of Belarusian athletes in the 2026 Winter Olympic Games: close contact has been established with the event organizers in Italy, and all potential Olympians have been accredited. Earlier this year, Belarus’ NOC ensured the participation of a Belarusian delegation at the European Youth Summer Olympic Festival in North Macedonia. Young athletes from Belarus won 13 medals at the tournament: 5 gold, 4 silver, and 4 bronze.
One of the organization’s most important projects in 2025 was the Vytoki sports and cultural festival, which was held in Postavy in June with the participation of about 10,000 people. In cooperation with sports federations, 30 sports zones were organized. Equally impressive in scale was the Olympic Day event held at the Minsk Palace of Sports, giving young residents and visitors of the Belarusian capital a chance to explore a wide range of sports.
2025 also saw the inaugural ProSport sports marketing award, honoring top marketing projects in Belarusian sports and the nation’s leading sports journalists. Adding to the events in 2025, the Belarusian NOC continued its tradition with the Olympic Christmas Tree New Year celebration, this time staged as an ice show in December.
