MINSK, 27 July (BelTA) – More than 72,000 foreign nationals vacationed in Belarusian sanatoriums in H1 2022, Director of the National Center for Recuperation and Health Resort Treatment Gennady Bolbatovsky said at a press conference, BelTA has learned.
“Today our sanatoriums are at capacity, which is more than 25,000 people daily, including over 5,500 foreigners. Over the past month, the number of foreigners remained stable. All in all, over 72,000 foreign nationals stayed in our sanatoriums in the first half of the year,” Gennady Bolbatovsky said.
According to him, 95% of all foreigners are Russians. “The total occupancy rate of Belarusian sanatoriums in the first half of the year was over 75%. The export of services also showed positive dynamics, with revenue exceeding Br82 million,” the director of the National Center for Recuperation and Health Resort Treatment informed.
Gennady Bolbatovsky also pointed to significant progress in improving the infrastructure of the country's recreation and recuperation facilities. “In H1 2022, more than 80% of the infrastructure investment plan was fulfilled. I hope this trend will remain in place and we will be able to invest even more than was stipulated by the plan,” Gennady Bolbatovsky said.
