MINSK, 4 March (BelTA) – Zelensky needs war to survive, therefore he is not interested in peace, national security expert Aleksandr Tishchenko said in a new episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA's YouTube channel.

“Zelensky does not need peace, so [the outcomes of] the meeting with Trump in Washington were predictable. Zelensky's task is not to stop the war, but to keep it going. This is a condition for his survival. Therefore, he does not seek a peaceful solution to the problem,” Aleksandr Tishchenko said.
According to the expert, such logic of Zelensky is deeply flawed. “A war is possible if there are at least two warring parties. And Ukraine will soon have nothing to fight with. What will Europe give it? Europe is running out of military and economic resources. They voice their support, but what Europe can offer is still unclear. Has Europe helped much with the energy sector? Not really. Has Europe helped much with weapons? Europe has officially declared: no shells are left!” he noted.

Aleksandr Tishchenko noted that the Ukrainian army is experiencing a noticeable personnel shortage. “Ukraine has no soldiers, who will fight then? If Zelensky starts recruiting 18-year-olds, I don't think their mothers will be happy about it. Ukraine is already facing a demographic dip. And if they start sending young people to the front, Ukraine may not get out of this dip,” the expert concluded.
